Pre-launch notice: The MixMate operator will be the data controller. The operator's legal name, postal address and privacy contact email must be inserted before public commercial launch.
1. Data we collect
- Account data: email address, DJ name, chosen emoji, account identifiers and sign-in records.
- Plan data: trial dates, plan status, customer references, renewal dates and payment status. Full card details are handled by the payments provider.
- Mix content: recordings you upload or make in MixMate, analysis results, scores and coaching conversations.
- Performance data: supported controller movements and DJ software information such as track names, tempo, key, cue and phrase positions.
- Technical data: device, browser, error and security information needed to operate and protect the service.
2. Why we use it
We use account, mix and performance data to provide the service you request, authenticate you, produce your analysis, answer coaching questions, keep your work private and manage your plan. We use limited technical and security data where necessary for our legitimate interests in keeping MixMate reliable, preventing abuse and improving faults. We use data to meet legal obligations where required.
3. Audio and DJ data
Your recordings, DJ software files and controller readings are private to your account. MixMate processes them to generate the features you request. The service may extract and process relevant parts of a recording when assessing a changeover. It does not publish your mixes or operate as a music-sharing service.
4. Who processes data
MixMate uses specialist providers for secure hosting, account authentication, payments and AI processing. They process data only to provide those services under their applicable contractual and security terms. Payment details stay with the payments provider; only plan and transaction status needed to run your account is stored by MixMate.
5. International transfers
Some service providers may process data outside the UK. Where required, appropriate safeguards such as UK-approved contractual clauses or an applicable adequacy decision will be used.
6. How long we keep it
Account and mix data is kept while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. You can delete mixes and recordings from Settings. Limited payment, fraud, security and accounting records may be retained where the law requires it or where needed to resolve a dispute. Specific retention periods will be finalised and published before commercial launch.
7. Your choices and rights
Under UK data-protection law, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing of your data, and to receive certain data in a portable format. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office. Requests will be handled after identity checks where necessary.
8. Deleting your data
You can delete mixes and recordings in Settings. Account closure requests remove the account and associated content, except for limited records we must retain by law. Deletion from active systems may not immediately remove protected backup copies, which expire through normal backup cycles.
9. Security
MixMate uses access controls and private account storage designed to prevent unauthorised access. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so you should use a strong, unique password and tell us if you believe your account has been compromised.
10. AI processing
For details of what Milo receives, how automated feedback works and its limits, read the AI Policy.
11. Changes to this policy
We will update this page when data practices change. Material changes will be highlighted in the service.
